Salary and Benefits



Medical Liability

Coverage is provided by the hospital for all work performed as part of this teaching program. Hospitalization & Dental Insurance A choice of multiple insurance plans is provided for the resident and his or her family, and includes a base plan with major medical and medical-surgical insurance. A vision care program as well as dental service coverage is also provided. There is a nominal co-pay for this coverage.



A disability policy, paying 50 percent of the resident’s salary after 90 days of disability, is provided.



Meal cards are provided to all residents for their personal use while on duty.


Continuing Medical Education

Reimburse for continuing medical education and discretionary professional expenses up to $1,000 during the term of resident's employment.

Vacation and Holidays

24 days per year (Hours per year is a lump sum of 192 hours.)


Employee Benefits

As an employee of Lancaster General Health, residents are eligible for several discount programs such as fitness memberships, eye wear and contact savings, amusement park admissions, movie tickets, etc.  Our new Employee Fitness Center (Live Well for Life) is FREE to all Lancaster General employees and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  State of the art exercise equipment, expertise of exercise physiologist, showers, locker room and more.  Located in the LGH Downtown Pavilion.
